Narin castle is located in Meybod, and it is about 5000 to 6000 years old. Narin is a Mongol word which means being like a” labyrinth “. It has been built in 5 floors and 2 of them are covered by soil. So now 3 floors are visible. the citadel was completed during different eras. For example, the last floor dates back to the Muzaffarids era about 700 years ago, and the forth one dates back to the Achaemenid Empire Era. Some says that Meybod had been the capital of Iran two times in the history. There were several defensive layers for the citadel including of moats, tall walls and extra.
Government people were living there. Narin castle has three main parts. In central part the king and his family were staying, in the next part, the priests and also the king’s officers were staying and in the last one the secretaries, mentors and ordinary people were living. With a very nice view from the roof-top, Narin castle is a very amazing site to visit
